Hello, my name is Cory and I’m the newest member of the Syncta squad. I just graduated last June from the University of Oregon with a degree in advertising and am excited to join the team.
Marketing and advertising are a passion of mine because of the stories we in the industry get to tell. It’s not just about selling someone a product anymore but telling them a story that evokes emotion and feeling that may compel them to action. Whether it’s pulling at the heart strings with an ad that has cute babies and their mothers or it’s conveying a feeling of awe and excitement about an on-board view of a snowboarder heading down a steep, untouched slope to sell maybe a GoPro. Or possibly even showing a business owner who’s very busy and doesn’t have time to deal with all the paperwork that used to come with backflow testing how Syncta’s software can give him or her those extra hours and peace of mind to work on what really makes them happy. So that’s a short synopsis of what led me here to become the marketing intern for Syncta.
Even though I had little knowledge of backflow or what it even meant coming into this company, I do still offer something I believe is important in any company, a fresh mind and perspective. I have the unique opportunity to first see what an outsider would see of this company and then as my knowledge grows, I’ll build that internal perspective. I think it’s really valuable from a marketing perspective to see a company through multiple lenses, and then be able to tell stories that will resonate with both testers and purveyors.
When I’m not in the office, some of my hobbies include riding dirt bikes, fitness and producing and editing video content.
That’s just a little about me and what I’m about. I can’t wait to learn, grow and hopefully tell a story or two. Thanks, and I’ll talk to you again soon!
