Say Hello to Syncta!

New Name – Bigger Team!

The past few months have been an exciting and busy time for us. As part of our continued efforts to grow our customer base and product features, we have added new team members, and we’re changing our name. Say hello to Syncta! In a short amount of time, we have also tripled the size of our team, welcoming new developers, CSRs, and sales execs.

Our Original Team

As many of you already know, our solution was born out of the desire to create a comprehensive backflow testing application. Literally started in Jeremiah Church’s garage in 2015, our software quickly built a reputation among backflow testers as the best solution in the industry. Known as a jack-of-all trades, Jeremiah spends his days doing a lot of everything – from building customer-requested features to guiding the team, Jeremiah is always developing new and innovative ways to help our customers succeed.

Shortly after our inception, Sasha joined Jeremiah as the first point of contact to support a growing customer base. From fielding customer calls to writing articles and blogs, to creating test forms, Sasha has been our customers’ go-to person from the start. If you’ve seen her picture pop up on our website and wondered if she’s a real person – now you know she is!

In 2016, Brock came on board to offer his expertise to ensure our customers’ success. Like Sasha and Jeremiah, Brock wore many hats in the beginning. Now leading a recently expanded team, he can devote his time to sales and customer success. Brock is still actively engaged with customers at every level – from educating new users to conducting software demos and trainings, Brock is our very own “Brockstar.”

Meet Our Latest Additions

Being responsive to our customers’ needs is in our DNA. As our customer base has grown, we knew that adding key roles would make your experience even better. After several months of interviews, we welcomed six new team members in July! You’ll get to know each person better through our blogs, but here’s a quick introduction:

•General Manager – Diana joins our team with over 10 years of sales and management experience in the plumbing industry. She started her career selling USB flash drives and other tech products to Fortune 500 companies before moving into a sales role in plumbing. Her experience in and passion for both technology and plumbing made her a great fit. Diana is a natural leader with high energy and endless dad jokes.

•Customer Success Rep – Samantha has worked in customer service management roles for over 30 years and plans on hanging in there for at least another 20! She has been involved with software technology since the early dot com days and loves learning about new industries. She is also nuts about dogs and loves going to music festivals.

•Lead Ruby on Rails Developer – Philip started developing for the web at a startup in NYC in 2007, growing the company for 10 years. Joining the Syncta team in Portland, Philip brings with him a decade of experience working on large Rails apps using the best and most popular technologies.

•Lead Mobile Developer – Darryl has worked as a Designer and Developer of Digital Products since 2000. He has developed apps and websites for Warner Bros., Disney and PennyMac. Darryl loves sports (Lakers!) and going to concerts.

•Technical Writer – Angela has been a technical writer for 20 years, working in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, high-end video displays, and infrared imaging technology. As a home owner who is fixing her own irrigation issues, Angela is excited to learn about the backflow industry from Syncta’s experienced team. She is also grateful that they humor her many do-it-yourself questions.

•Inside Sales – Tomas brings 10 years of hardware and software sales experience to Syncta, working for companies such as iT1 Source and StormWind Studios. With his consultative and open-minded style, Tomas has quickly become a trusted member of the sales team at Syncta. In his spare time, Tomas enjoys traveling, snowboarding, and hanging out with his family.

Onward

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind – but in the best possible way. We now have the resources in place to launch new features more quickly, react faster to customer requests, and support the needs of a growing customer base. We look forward to further deepening our Backflow roots, bringing technology and forward thinking to an industry that is critical to keeping our water safe (that we’re passionate about supporting.) Here we go!
